OUR VISION

Our Vision

The Addington is a private Members’ Club 9 miles from central London.

Our key aim is to restore one of the finest Golden Age courses in The British Isles and couple it with first-class hospitality and service.

With lodging on site, it will offer a secluded retreat from the City. Whether you’re here for work or play, The Addington will be a memorable and curated golfing experience, respectful of the design Abercromby & Colt left behind, and complemented by exceptional hospitality.

Restoration

In 2020, Managing Director, Ryan Noades, embarked on a project with Clayton DeVries & Pont to restore the course back to its original grandeur and reinstate the strategic principles from 1913. It’s a provocative design and unlike any other in the UK.

This has involved extensive tree removal to widen the playing corridors to restore the strategic value of shots and decision making. Green sites are being expanded, as well as a full bunker renovation programme to complement those greens left by Colt & Abercromby.

Significant investment in the agronomy, improving the playing surfaces, as well as heather regeneration, will not only improve the playing experience but also enhance the visual aesthetic of the course.

With wild, rolling terrain and a host of memorable par 3s, this work will see The Addington once again regarded amongst the best inland courses in the world.

It’s almost like a Rembrandt found in in the attic. you need to take four layers of varnish off, but the painting is still there” – Frank Pont; Clayton, DeVries & Pont
